This project involved a comprehensive refurbishment across multiple areas of a residential property, including the transformation of existing bathroom and shower facilities into accessible wetrooms and significant updates to bedrooms and electrical systems. The aim was to enhance both functionality and aesthetic appeal while maintaining high standards of workmanship and design.

• Convert the existing bathroom and shower room into fully waterproofed wet rooms.

Our Approach

1. Wetroom Conversion
Two wetrooms were created by:

• Demolishing existing structures and conducting subfloor groundworks.
  
  
• Installing AKW formers, gravity-fed drainage, and waterproof vinyl flooring (Altro Pisces Anchor SB2008).
  
  
• Fitting new sanitary ware, including showers, vanity sinks, toilets, and shower screens.
  
  
• Applying Aquaclad waterproof boarding in shower zones.

2. Flooring Upgrades

• Removed existing carpet and bathroom flooring with care to protect surrounding surfaces.
  
  
• Applied self-levelling latex compound to bathroom floors.
  
  
• Installed Wilton Heritage Watchfield carpet in bedrooms and high-performance Altro vinyl in wetrooms for slip resistance and easy maintenance.

3. Electrical Improvements

• Replaced light fittings with energy-efficient domed LED lights and added emergency units.
  
  
• Installed new TV data points and wall brackets, complete with HDMI and CAT5 conduits.
  
  
• Upgraded plug sockets to MK Logic Plus with integrated USB Type A and C ports.
  
  
• Added flexible reading lights and modern light switches with secondary controls above the bed.
  
  
• Installed electrical towel radiators and coordinated pillow alarm sockets with the fire alarm system.

4. Decoration and Finishing Touches

• Skimmed and prepared walls for painting, particularly where old tiles were removed.
  
  
• Applied Dulux Trade Mossy Stone emulsion in bedrooms and Dulux Easy Care Soft White in bathrooms.
  
  
• Painted ceilings and skirting boards using durable, high-quality Dulux finishes.
  
  
• Supplied and installed lighted mirror wall cabinets with shaver sockets.

5. Waste Management

• Utilised 12-yard general waste skips for efficient site clearance.
  
  
• Removed all debris and left the site clean and tidy upon project completion.

Conclusion

The project successfully delivered two fully functional, aesthetically pleasing wetrooms and modernised bedroom environments. All works were completed to a high standard of craftsmanship, incorporating quality materials and a user-focused design approach. The upgraded electrical and decorative enhancements brought added convenience and a fresh new look to the living spaces.
