Mezzanines take office spaces to a new level

The price of success for a rapidly growing business could be the cost of having to move to larger premises, with higher rent and business rates and greater energy bills. Fortunately, the growing trend for office spaces with mezzanine flooring mezzanine flooring is providing a convenient solution to this problem. Modern mezzanines are generally freestanding steel constructions supporting a raised deck. They are prefabricated and then assembled on site, which makes it possible to quickly install them without too much disruption. They can usually be designed to fit in with your business’s needs and visual preferences and can be used for extra storage space, offices, meeting rooms or even areas for relaxation and coffee breaks.

Of course, whether a business can install a mezzanine level depends on the available vertical space. Even if there isn’t room to house an extra working level there could be enough to create a storage area, which could free up the floor space below. One advantage of having a mezzanine is that it preserves the feeling of light and space inside a building and allows workers to gain different views of their workplace, which can make the office space more appealing.

If relocation becomes unavoidable an existing mezzanine floor can be disassembled and reconstructed inside new premises if required. With big companies like Pixar, which has a huge open office space with a multi-tier mezzanine, recognising the benefits of adding extra levels to the workplace, it looks like this is a trend that will continue.
