A casino in Liverpool is to be refurbished and renovated with extensive alterations to the internal space, including the installation of a new mezzanine flooring mezzanine flooring level.

The Genting Club Queen Square is the first of the premises belonging to the largest UK casino operator to have a major facelift as part of a nationwide renovation project.

The internal reorganisation will increase the space available for poker, roulette, blackjack and baccarat tables, while a range of new electronic gaming machines are also to be installed. A new bar on the gaming floor has been designed in a horseshoe shape to maximise the playing area and another restaurant will be added during the refurbishment, offering a contemporary menu with the emphasis on fresh, local produce.

The construction of mezzanine floors is one of the most cost-effective methods of increasing usable space without altering the external appearance of the building. The new mezzanine floor, to be installed over the gaming area in the Queen Square casino, has been designed to offer an enjoyable experience in luxurious surroundings. The new Cai Bar will specialise in cocktails and champagne and will feature private booths and a dance floor. It will also boast wide-screen television, showing live sport.

During the renovation, which is expected to be completed in August, the casino will remain open as usual and the increase in gaming tables, together with the new bar, restaurant and other planned facilities are expected to generate at least 20 full-time jobs for local people.
